3 p.m., the Devil’s hour. An ominous cloud hovers over a wood-shingled office building in Orange County.
We can hear someone say, “You can’t take those, they’re not on the list.”
But we pay them no mind. We know full well that these magnetic boards are ours. We paid for them outta pocket—cash. The three of us, the brains of this whole operation, tread along the treacherous hallway, making sure to scan every corner office for personal effects, tools for the insurgence. Status check: There’s no room in the TrailBlazer for that mini-fridge. We march right past the scabs. Looks like getting out of here unscathed is going to be easier than we thought.
On April 21st, 2006, three rogue designers stepped up against tyranny and became Studio Grae. Amidst the bloodshed, a new era was born.
Studio Grae is a small design firm that wants nothing more than to create design ecstasy in a dreary world of vanilla tradeshows. Our creativity and drive has led us to likeminded ruffians, wenches and scallywags—the types of people who are willing to try the new X-13D Doritos. They bring us the projects, we flex some creative muscle, and together, we squeeze out some fresh design juice. We now work on radical projects that allow us to draw from our passions in art, music and various fine woods. We have gone from temporary solutions to permanent installations. Studio Grae is always on the lookout for that weird project that leaves people wondering, “Who pulled that off?”
